Messages
Reach a specific person or group — by name, role, or location — with a note that lands in their app inbox.
A Message goes to the specific people you choose, rather than the whole team. It lands in each recipient's inbox inside the OnKey app (not as an urgent push like an Alert). Use it for reminders and updates that only some of your team need.
Just tell your Virtual Operations Agent who and what:
"Message the Glendale cashiers: your new schedule is posted."
"Send Maria Lopez a note: please see me before your shift."
Who you can reach
You target people by any combination of name, role, and location — combined together (so "cashiers at Glendale" means role and location):
- One person — give a name ("message Bob Thompson…").
- Several people / a group — give a role and/or location ("the morning-shift leads", "everyone at the Bedford store", "all cashiers").
How it works
- Your Virtual Operations Agent looks up who matches and shows you the count (and, if you named one person but several match, it lists them and asks which one — it never guesses).
- It shows you the exact message and the recipients, and asks you to confirm.
- On your "yes," it sends. Recipients see it in their app inbox, translated into their language.
Good to know
- No hourly limit. Unlike Alerts, Messages aren't rate-limited — send as many as you need. (There's a safety cap of a couple hundred recipients per message; for anything larger, an Alert to everyone is usually the right tool.)
- You always approve the wording and the recipient list before anything sends.
- Targeting is by name / role / location — not by hand-picking individual IDs.
